Fostering Panel Chair
Foster Panel Chair
Hampshire Fostering are looking to appoint an Independent Foster Panel Chair who is committed to high standards to support Hampshire Fostering in finding the right Foster Carers for Hampshire's most vulnerable children.
The role of the Fostering Panel is to support the provision of high quality and safe foster homes for our children through sound and competent recommendations regarding applicants' suitability to foster, in line with the Fostering Service Regulations 2011 [England].
Rated outstanding by Ofsted, Hampshire County Council is dedicated to making Hampshire an even better place for children and young people.
You will need to be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the legislative framework and national standards for Fostering and current good practice initiatives. The suitable candidate must have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, experience of managing complex dynamics within meetings and be able to put prospective and approved foster carers at ease, whilst promoting sound and responsible decision-making.
Hampshire Foster Panels typically meet for half a day with up to 6 cases including Foster Carer approvals, Family Connections Carer approvals and carer reviews and complaints.
As an independent Panel Chair you would receive a renumeration rate of £400 per half day panel and reasonable travel expenses
In addition to chairing the Fostering Panel, there will be the usual Panel Chair responsibilities, and we provide access to training through the year including a one day panel workshop. The Chair will be expected to be available for at least 80% of panel meetings.
