In April 2019, Connect2Hampshire was born, and Emma was right there with us. Still here today and thriving, she takes a look back on her experience so far.
Tell us about your experience with Connect2Hampshire during the last two years?
It’s been a whirlwind of an experience from being so busy since the day they pressed the button on 1st April 2019. I don’t think I have looked back since leaving my old job, which is a good thing. I have enjoyed the majority of it, the cyber-attack was a little stressful, that combined with COVID.
What do you enjoy most about working for Connect2Hampshire?
The people. We have a great team and Business Manager. I have made some good connections in HCC which always makes your working day a lot easier.
Looking back over the last two years, what has been your highlight?
The official opening, smashing the budget on the first year – happy days!
In the last two years, what do you consider to be your greatest professional achievement?
Gosh that is a hard one. I think getting my head around how a council works, and that it is very different to a commercial business.
Over the last year, how well have you adapted to home working throughout the pandemic?
It took a couple of weeks, with WFH and home schooling so quite a lot of juggling went on. I have never been a WFH person, however now the kids have gone back I think I quite enjoy it some days - but it will also be nice to have the office atmosphere back!
What are you most looking forward to doing when the Covid restrictions are lifted?
Seeing all my friends and family. I am going to go to as many parties and BBQ’s as I possibly can manage. I have missed them all so much. Already started to book the diary out! And of course getting back into the office, some good old face to face meetings with a coffee from a coffee shop – they do taste so much better when you have not had to make them yourself!
